(Contributed to the show from Sept.2000 to May 2001)
(Here's his bio of the departed Boss)
Chris Meyer, better
known as “Da Boss” in WSUW
circles, was born
into greatness on December 10th,
1978, the first baby
of the season to come home in a
Christmas stocking
from Beaver Dam Community
Hospital in Beaver
Dam, Wisconsin. Several years
of school, a solid
career as both a center fielder and
anchor golfer (3 Varsity
Letters), and a freshman year
at UW-Platteville
later, he landed at UW-Whitewater
in the fall of 1998.
Da Boss’s career at WSUW began
in the fall of 1999
as a Sunday evening DeeJay and
Thursday afternoon
sports guy. The year 2000 saw
several stints as
a news anchor followed by eventually
becoming news director
in the fall and joining the
critically acclaimed
(well, not really) Hawk Talk. In
2001, he replaced
Max Power for a semester as co-host
of the Mad Mad Mad
Retro Morning Show with Jason
Ryan. Unfortunately,
graduation and the real world of
radio plucked Da Boss
away fromWSUW in May 2001,
but he makes return
visits to grace show with his illustrious
presence andunmatched
wit whenever possible.
Other (not so) interesting notes:
- Maintained a 3.77 through college, unfortunately it was his blood alcohol level.
- Could be found on
many occasions performing "community service" with Max Power in
downtown Whitewater.
- Other nicknames: Esteemed News Director, The Crick
- Favorite food: it's between thighs and below the breasts, and I am not talking about a gizzard!
- Favorite Drink: Miller Lite
- Made possibly the greatest defensive play ever in a Cable 19 vs. WSUW softball game.
